The Division of Administration/Office of Facility Planning and Control has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of TS-319.
This vacancy will be filled by new hire or by promotion of a current permanent status classified employee.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering or professional architecture plus seven years of experience as a licensed engineer or architect.
NOTE:
Applications will be accepted from persons licensed to practice professional engineering or professional architecture in states other than Louisiana. If one of those applicants is selected for the position, he/she will be required to obtain a Louisiana license prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all licensing requirements are met.

To administer the architectural, engineering, and environmental programs for the state’s capital outlay programs.
LEVEL OF WORK:

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Administrative direction from the FPC Assistant Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over several FPC Project Managers or equivalent level staff.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Division of Administration, Office of Facility Planning and Control.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from FPC Project Manager by the presence of direct supervisory responsibility over subordinate project managers.
Differs from FPC Assistant Director by the absence of responsibility for serving as the deputy and primary assistant to the Director.

Assists Director and Assistant Director in review of capital outlay.
Assists Director and Assistant Director in directing, coordinating and prioritizing the management of all capital outlay projects and in the assignment of projects to the groups.
Directs, coordinates and prioritizes the pre-design, design and construction activities of his/her group of project managers and assigns work to the project managers in his/her group.
Monitors the work of the project managers in his/her group and tracks the progress of projects through the review process.
Communicates the progress of schedules, assignments, and activities to the Director and Assistant Director as they pertain to his/her group.
Determines whether project designs comply with the capital outlay act and the capital outlay request.
Assists user agencies with the development of design programs and capital outlay budgets.
Assists user agencies in addressing deferred maintenance problems and the development of preventive maintenance programs.
Consults with private sector and state officials, administrators, legislators, higher education officials, agency heads, and attorneys to explain and interpret existing policies and programs of Facility Planning and Control.
