Actalent Controls Engineer in Lafayette, Indiana
Description: Our largest OEM automotive manufacturer is seeking a controls engineer that will be working on predominantly new projects launches! This will include bringing in new capital projects and/or retrofitting existing equipment to specification. In addition to project launches, you can expect to occasionally support the production floor if there are major issues resulting in delayed production. Monday - Thursday is often spent planning (around 80%) for new projects/improvements while Friday - Sunday is spent executing those plans (20%). Additional responsibilities are listed below:
Day to Day:
Will be working on optimizing processes and automation equipment for new model launches for Subaru Vehicles
Design electrical systems for machinery --- CAD packages that could be used are: AutoCAD, Solidworks, or CATIA
Electrical schematic design
Troubleshooting, modifying, and Programming PLC’s and HMI’s -- most of the PLC's at the site are Mitsubishi but have some Allen Bradley
Will be working with industrial Networking systems (DeviceNet, TCP/IP, Uniwire)
Integration and programming of Robotic systems
Assisting with Mechanical Systems Design: Ability to read and understand product and equipment mechanical drawings and dimensions. Solid experience troubleshooting, modifying, and specifying mechanical systems. Experience with pneumatic piping and control systems. Exposure to air, water, and hydraulic utilities.
MS Office utilization and MS Project
