Ferguson is seeking a Fabrication Associate to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively setup, run, and maintain machinery, equipment, and tools used for producing test samples and specimens for dimensional, mechanical, and metallurgical testing

  • Accurately measure dimensions of products, samples, and specimens using precision tools

  • Prepare samples and specimens for testing (cutting, machining, sandblasting, measuring, etc.)

  • Perform mechanical tests, such as bending, flattening, tensile or, hardness testing

  • Observe all safety precautions for machine shop and laboratory-related activities

  • Safely handle and move products, samples, etc. between main lab and machine shop areas

  • Safely use powered machinery and industrial equipment, as per OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures

  • Remain results-focused in a fast-paced, customer service environment

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of fabrication experience is preferred

  • Experience using and maintaining machinery to shape and manipulate metals (lathes, mills, presses, etc.)

  • Mathematic skills necessary to prepare samples to specified and applicable requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend typical drawings, standards, and specified dimensional requirements

  • Able to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision

  • Able to lift 50 lbs unaided and have corrected visual acuity necessary to perform work functions

  • Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment

  • The ability to thrive in an inclusive environment

  • Formal training as a machinist

  • Experience using CNC controls, such as SINUMERIK

  • Experience operating powered machinery and equipment under OSHA regulations

  • Experience working under an ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 system

  • Experience testing or inspecting pressure piping components, such as pipes, valves, flanges, or fittings

  • Experience with laboratory equipment for metallurgical testing and microscopic evaluation

  • SNT-TC-1A certification in MT or PT

  • Fast learner; can-do attitude

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
