Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity in our Engineering R&D Test Laboratory (Lab) located in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager . This role is responsible for planning, executing, observing and continuously improving Health and Safety across the North America commercial HVAC Engineering and Compressor NOE Lab organizations. The selected individual will interact with Lab leadership, Lab teams and site as well as corporate EHS functions to ensure adherence to Trane Technology Health & Safety policies. This position will be on-site (5-days/week) and must be willing/able to be located in (or relocate to) the La Crosse area.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Develop and implement environmental, health and safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA, EPA, other EHS regulatory agencies and Trane Technologies’ operating systems.

  • Communicate and provide guidance & direction to Laboratory management on safety concerns, EHS trends and safety policy changes.

  • Mentor and motivate team members to ensure compliance to EHS standards and improve the Laboratory’s safety culture.

  • Lead and/or participate in root-cause investigations, corrective action plans and safety related improvement projects to achieve company goals related to EHS.

  • Conduct and manage audit and EHS training programs for Laboratory employees, visitors and contractors.

  • Collaborate with others across campus to develop and implement sustainability strategies to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint.

  • Ability to travel overnight 5%.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Industrial Safety (or related discipline) and at least 5 years of work experience in environmental health and safety is required.

  • Ability to collaborate closely with employees, campus EHS, contractors and visitors in the NA CHVAC Laboratories to ensure that safety is a value for everyone.

  • Must be meticulous with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment as well as build cross-functional partnerships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to listen and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing long-term objectives with daily tactical level work.

  • Ability to lead and mentor efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.

Annual Compensation Range is $75,000 to $123,000 annually. Disclaimer : This salary range is based on US national averages. Actual pay could be a result of seniority/experience level, merit and geographic location where the actual work is performed.
