WSP USA Hydrogeology Field Technician in Kitchener, Ontario

The Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hydrogeology Field Technician to join our hydrogeology team in Ontario, Canada. The successful candidate will support our Kitchener or Cambridge offices and will play a key role in field data collection, monitoring, and analysis for a variety of hydrogeological projects.

What you can expect to do here :

  • Various fieldwork duties to include drill rig supervision, soil and rock core logging, monitoring well installation, collection of water level data, various aquifer testing methods including pumping tests, sampling of soil, groundwater and surface water;

  • Preparing and coordinating subcontractors and equipment for field programs;

  • Filing and managing all project related field notes and data;

  • Analysis of field data, production of tables, figures, and writing of portions of reports;

  • Collaborate with hydrogeologists, engineers, and other team members to support project objectives and deliver high-quality results.

  • Adhere to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Diploma or degree in hydrogeology, environmental science, geology, or a related field.

  • One to two years of relevant work experience is preferred;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and critical thinking skills with particular attention to detail and accuracy of field notes.

  • Enthusiastic, versatile, and willing to take on responsibility;

  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic;

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required;

  • Strong awareness of health and safety issues and a safety conscious attitude

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with clients and stakeholders.
