Position Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to strengthen Permobil's market position by efficiently driving the sourcing agenda within the New Product Development (NPD) process. This includes ensuring competitive commercial conditions for all products and services within the scope, maximizing supplier value, and proactively managing business risks. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing the supply chain, negotiating favorable terms, and fostering strong supplier relationships to support Permobil's strategic objectives and innovation goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the platform sourcing strategy for Chassis, Seat, or Electronics to meet customer needs and provide a competitive market advantage,

  • Oversee supplier relationship management to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are met throughout the development phase,

  • Manage and optimize the end-to-end supply chain process, from supplier selection to delivery at production units,

  • Negotiate commercial conditions, including contracts and agreements with suppliers, to secure the best value for products and services,

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives,

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive sourcing initiatives that deliver cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate risks,

  • Identify new suppliers and technologies to enhance platform performance and reduce costs,

  • Conduct market benchmarking and analyze supplier performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimize sourcing processes,

  • Manage phase-in/out planning to ensure timely product availability and minimize risks of excess and obsolete components,

  • Oversee logistics and distribution to ensure timely delivery of components to designers,

  • Develop and implement Sourcing Concept Studies and facilitate supplier scouting if needed,

  • Evaluate make/buy alternatives and engage with regional operations teams to define purchase levels,

  • Create supply chain definitions and identify related risks,

  • Develop supply scorecards and production plans for prototype builds, aligning with R&D project managers,

  • Facilitate prototype handling and maintain sourcing data and agreement amendments,

  • Refine supply chain requirements in collaboration with R&D and product management,

  • Align product ramp-up plans with product management and R&D, and refine phase-out plans for obsolete items,

  • Coordinate supplier and production ramp-up plans with sourcing managers and production units,

  • Ensure efficient handover of revised appendices to responsible sourcing managers,

  • Ensure supply requirements are fulfilled throughout the project lifecycle.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or economics, or equivalent work experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or similar positions,

  • Professional education or work experience in certified purchasing, legal awareness, business negotiation, supplier evaluation and development, lean production, supply chain management, logistics, quality systems, supplier relationship management, risk management, and category management,

  • Excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and business negotiations, including contract management,

  • Good knowledge of business analysis, lean concepts, and production engineering,

  • IS/IT system knowledge,

  • Experience in roles such as Sourcing Manager, Strategic Purchasing, or similar,

  • Engineering or technical background is a strong advantage.

  • Strong business negotiation skills,

  • Good analytical abilities for assessing supplier performance,

  • Solid financial skills for evaluating total supplier costs, including price, delivery, administration, quality control, and inventory,

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and think logically/analytically,

  • Persuasive and influential with a high attention to detail,

  • Proficient in managing multiple projects, suppliers, topics, and ongoing issues,

  • Result-oriented, credible, and decisive,

  • Solution-oriented, offering options instead of just identifying problems,

  • Excellent business English at a negotiation level,

  • Ability to understand complex problems and create strategic initiatives,

  • Capable of leading cross-functional teams and supervising external suppliers,

  • Willingness to travel domestically, regionally, and internationally,

  • Confident in leading supplier relations and handling conflicts with international suppliers,

  • Capable of balancing long-term strategic planning with short-term actions.
