WSP USA Experienced Environmental Statistician in Kennesaw, Georgia

This Opportunity

WSP is hiring for an Experienced Environmental Statistician to support our environmental investigation, remediation, and restoration team based in our Atlanta area Kennesaw, GA office.

Your Impact

  • Prepare sample designs, conduct data analysis and interpretation, and power analyses of environmental data with input from multi-disciplinary project teams.

  • Communicate statistical evaluations and results with the project team, client, and/or regulatory agencies (EPA and state agencies). Typical projects will be performed under CERCLA (Superfund) or RCRA administrative orders and/or guidance.

  • Compile, analyze, and summarize environmental data, using modern methods for data management and data analytics. Compilation and preparation of datasets will be in collaboration with database managers using EQuIS or other database software.

  • Manage assigned tasks for multiple projects concurrently, adhering to project deadlines and budgets.

  • Build successful client relationships through strong communication and successful task completion.

  • Review, understand, and abide by WSP’s safety and ethics requirements and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a science or engineering field.

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience with non-normally distributed data and statistical analyses including regressions, t-tests, nonparametric tests, power analyses, multivariate and/or ordination techniques.

  • Well-versed in R, MATLAB, or other similar statistical software, familiarity with USEPA’s ProUCL and/or PNNL’s Visual Sample Plan.

  • Experience in investigations and/or remediation of sediment, surface water, biotic tissue, air, groundwater, and/or other related topics.

  • Statistical analysis of chemicals/wastes (e.g., mercury, pesticides, PCBs, chlorinated organics, LNAPL/DNAPL organics, coal ash, PFAS) and environmental media (e.g., sediment, fish, groundwater, soil, surface water).

  • Strong skills in technical writing, presentations, and communications.

  • Attention to detail, strong organization and time management capabilities.

  • Must be able to pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with WSP’s driving policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Bayesian statistics.

  • Experience with censored datasets.

  • Geospatial statistical skills (e.g., kriging, interpolations, geostatistical simulation).

  • Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a science or engineering field.
