Position Overview:

As a Quality Technician, you will be a member of the Quality Assurance Team, reporting to a Quality Supervisor (or Managerdepending on plant). You will contribute to the success of Ball by inspecting in-process or finished products for quality; based on Ball internal specifications and will advise production on results.

The Kapolei, HI plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 12 -hour shifts (6:45am-7pm/6:45pm-7am) working 3 days on/3 days off; and rotating from day to night shift every 2 weeks.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Follow all job safety practices and policies including but not limited to: food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.

  • Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment, as needed.

  • Routinely use measuring tools (such as: calliper gauges, micrometres).

  • Advise production when inspection results do not meet customer specifications.

  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace according to 5S standards.

  • Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or education equivalent required.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a production/manufacturing role.

  • Experience maintaining production or quality control equipment.

  • Proficiency with computer applications (such as: Microsoft: Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong attention to detail and experience reviewing and understanding graphs and trends.

  • Must be able to match colors.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise communication (verbal and written) in a respectful manner to all levels of personnel.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with depth gauges, dial callipers, and/or automated gauges.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions:

  • May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to:

  • Hot/Cold working conditions.

  • Loud /Noisy environment.

  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.

  • Climbing (stairs, and other equipment as necessary).

Compensation & Benefits

- Hiring Salary Range: $24.00/hr
