Facility Engineering Services, a Burns & McDonnell company, is looking for a project manager that has a desire to apply their project management experience, while actively engaging with the client and seeing a project through from concept development to commissioning and operation. This opportunity is full time Monday through Friday day shift, working at the Kansas City National Security Campus facility in Kansas City, MO.

The Project Manager will manage multiple projects ranging from small work orders to capital equipment installations and complex infrastructure modifications. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage multiple projects at one time, including a wide range of project scopes from small to complex with varying schedules.

• Manage projects through all phases of project execution from initiation and scope development, through design, construction and closeout to achieve project schedules, budgets and goals.

• Interact with the client and design team to develop project scope and communicate regular project status updates with the client.

• Provide direction to a multi-discipline project design team.

• Monitor project execution for conformance to established processes.

• Actively develop relationships with all levels of the client organization, promoting client satisfaction and marketing of services.

• Demonstrate creativity, foresight and judgement in anticipating and solving problems.

• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Security Clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field from an accredited program.

• Minimum 7 years of related experience (3 years project management experience for projects related to industrial / manufacturing facilities is preferred).

• Ability to orchestrate meetings with client and upper management and lead a multi-discipline design team.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Support field work throughout the facility during design and construction.

• Capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.

• Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Position requires minimal travel.

• Preferred experience in project controls.
