Custom Truck One Source PORTER- Class B License/Air Brake Endorsement Required. in Kansas City, Missouri

SUMMARY:

Primary responsibility will be working in the yard moving trucks and or cranes to specified destinations and locations on the Kansas City CTOS lot, and to perform as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.

  • Drives truck or equipment to assigned location.

  • Maintains telephone or phone contact with Yard Supervisor to receive instructions.

  • Cleans inside of truck. Performs routine maintenance on truck or equipment.

  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.

  • Reports accidents to HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.

  • Must work with and for all departments in harmony.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position requires a Class B CDL with minimum 2 years of experience.

  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years

  • No more than 2 preventable accidents in the past 3 years

  • HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements preferred, but not required

  • Maintain a DOT medical and clean driving record to remain insurable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to speak, read and interpret documents in English. Must also can speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Highly detail oriented and organized in work. Acceptable written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results. Must have initiative and the ability act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Must possess a strong desire to learn. Mechanical skills/experience with heavy trucks and heavy equipment are a plus.

The employee is required to seek assistance in the lifting of more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
