This position provides professional respiratory therapy care to patients of all ages in assigned area(s). This care is rendered in a safe and effective manner that is consistent with Logan Health’s (LH) policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Current Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
Current National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Current NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) License, who must successfully obtain their NBRC RRT credential within one (1) year of hire.
Must maintain both Montana state RCP licensure, per state guidelines, and NBRC RRT credential, per NBRC guidelines.
Per NBRC guidelines, those who are credentialed with the RRT, prior to 2002, are grandfathered in. Those who are credentialed after 2002 will have to follow NBRC guidelines, and renew the RRT credential every five (5) years.
Required certifications include, but may not be limited to: BLS, ACLS, NRP (within six (6) months of hire), and PALS (within one (1) year of hire).
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Attends to patient ’s needs promoting health, comfort and life. Exhibits commitment to professionalism, civility, teamwork and customer service while undertaking all tasks and interactions with others
Exhibits knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to the RT’s specific job duties, patient care, and safety.
Competently performs basic respiratory therapy skills to include, but not limited to; management of mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation modalities, medication administration, use of varied medical equipment, utilization of electronic medical record documentation, and assists providers within the respiratory scope of practice. Skill set is validated as outlined in unit specific competency program.
Assumes professional accountability for maintaining competency as outlined in the unit based structure and peer review fulfilling the respiratory department and organization’s goals.
Makes sound scope of practice-related judgments and decisions while delivering excellent patient care, which is reflected in quality documentation, patient outcomes, and various data components.
Participates as an engaged team member working collegially with staff members within and outside of the unit.
Utilizes, manipulates and operates medical equipment as outlined in the competency program.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
