We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Mechanic Assistant. The Mechanic Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled mechanics in maintaining, repairing, and servicing various types of vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities:
- Assist diesel mechanics in performing routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- Help in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues by conducting visual inspections and utilizing diagnostic tools.
- Assist in repairing and replacing worn or damaged components.
- Support mechanics in dismantling and reassembling engines, transmissions, and other major components for repairs.
- Clean and maintain the workshop area to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Retrieve tools, equipment, and parts as needed for various tasks.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of service and repairs performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
- Observe and learn from experienced mechanics, taking the opportunity to ask questions and develop hands-on skills.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and components.
- Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the field of diesel mechanics.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and seek clarification.
- Prior experience in a mechanic assistant role or related field is a plus.
