About the Role

As a Certified Hemodialysis Technician, you'll play a crucial role in providing direct patient care. Working under the guidance of registered nurses, you'll perform hemodialysis procedures, conduct patient observations, and handle daily operations. Your responsibilities will include water testing, blood sample collection, laboratory testing, and participation in quality improvement activities.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
  • One year recent experience as a Dialysis Technician preferred.
  • One year of experience in relevant healthcare roles such as Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, etc.
  • CMS recognized certification as a Dialysis Technician required.
  • BLS for healthcare provider certification required.

     

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, managing treatments and machine operations.
  • Conduct basic water testing tasks.
  • Open and close the unit as required.
  • Respond promptly to machine alarms following established procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with RNs regarding patient status and interventions.
  • Assist in patient discharge and transfer procedures.
  • Perform required laboratory procedures and quality control tasks.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in the EMR.
  • Ensure daily stocking of supplies and equipment and assist with telephone queries.
  • Uphold patient advocacy, rights, and service standards.
  • Adhere to safety and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs.
  • Successfully complete annual competency assessments.
  • Flexibility to rotate to other areas within the cluster group.
