Eaton’s EPG LAC PD Power Distribution division is currently seeking a Senior Medium Voltaje Electrical Engineer.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

Interprets customer’s specifications, drawings, and quotations and by using American and Mexican Electrical Codes prepares electrical drawings and the bills of materials for Power Distribution Products such as Metal Clad, Metal Enclosed and MV Starters. In Medium voltage Product Lines; using ANSI, NEMA, NEC USA, and/or UL requirements for international requirements and Mexican Standards ANCE, NOM, CFE, PEMEX, and other codes and regulations for the Mexican local market.

Essential Functions:

• Provide customer drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials. Develops and provides one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring information to complete the project for MV Equipment based on product design guidelines, knowledge of applicable codes and standards, and use of appropriate reference documents

• Select all control and protection devices to function as required in assemblies/circuits. Determine the proper method for applying, installing, and wiring special devices as per customer requirements.

• Identify improved opportunities for the “Electrical Design Process” through standardization and systematization of the design work procedures to reinforce its execution.

• Supervise the work of the electrical and mechanical technicians/drafters.

• Expeditiously resolves all technical issues with the customer, Project Management Dept., Manufacturing Dept., supply chain department, Quality and Testing department to meet project schedule milestones.

• Identifies the technical requirements that may require an order change and brings this to the attention of the Product Manager.

• Provide technical support for the implementation of the change order and ensure its implementation on the Design.

• Conducts all technical communication with the customer / Sales in a timely and professional manner.

• Generates the project bill of materials to meet the customer specifications. And provides it to the Purchasing department for timely acquisition.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Demonstrated strong skills on following competencies: Business Acumen; Conflict Management, Creativity; Timely Decision Making; Functional/Technical Skills; Integrity and Trust; Learning on the Fly; Motivating Others; Priority Setting; Problem Solving; Drive for Results; Written Communications; Customer Focus.

Preferred:

• Process for New Product Launch preferable ProLaunch NPI and/or STP.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English-Spanish (90%)

• Minimum of 5 years prior MV Electrical product development environment positions experience in the electrical industry or related product and manufacturing environment

• Minimum of 3 years prior first-hand design or applications experience with Power Distribution Equipment.

• Knowledge of Eaton products (Power Distribution) and their applications.
