Citizens Sr Regulatory Relations Manager in Johnston, Rhode Island

Description

As Senior Manager of the Citizens Financial Group Compliance Regulatory Relations team, this individual is responsible for managing the relationship, examination activity, and facilitating all other interactions, including the flow of information to and from the following regulatory agencies with respect to Citizens: the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston (FRBB), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation FDIC), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Department of Banking for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department (DOBPA). The Senior Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining Regulatory Relations Policy Standards, and regulatory Outreach and Training within Citizens.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Drive Regulatory Relations policies, standards, and initiatives across Citizens.

  • Execute the Annual Regulatory Engagement Plan – schedule and facilitate Interagency meetings between the bank and the various regulatory agencies.

  • Support and facilitate all interactions, including the flow of information to and from the regulatory agencies with respect to issues impacting assigned Business Lines/Functional areas within Citizens.

  • Directly manage FRBB, OCC, FDIC, CFPB, FINRA, SEC, and DOBPA regulatory examinations and ongoing supervisory requests for all assigned business lines and/or functional areas.

  • Provide leadership and manage decentralized teams of individuals to support regulatory reporting, examinations, responses, and communications across the Americas Divisions.

  • Prepare Senior Management meetings which includes, but not limited to:

  • Meeting agenda development

  • Development of Executive Briefings

  • Collaborate closely with executive and senior management to ensure appropriate stakeholder involvement in regulatory activities and ensure complete and timely responses to same.

  • Serve as subject matter expert to Citizens personnel in assigned Business Lines/Functional areas, and management to proactively address regulatory inquiries, raise awareness of regulatory requirements, and provide keep Citizens current on regulatory areas of interest and focus.

  • Monitor, track, and report regulatory issues raised outside of the examination process to ensure the timely response and remediation of these matters within responsible areas of Citizens.

  • Analyze regulatory trends and determine impact on respective lines of business. Escalate regulatory matters as appropriate and ensure remedial actions are addressed and delivered within acceptable timeframes.

  • Contribute to effective management reporting and dashboards for governance committees, senior management, and regulatory agencies, regarding Citizens Regulatory Relations.

  • Leads, or participates as necessary, ad hoc projects and change initiatives as assigned by the Director of Citizens Regulatory Relations.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant work experience to include serving as a regulator or interfacing with regulators.

  • Excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills and ability to build strong internal and external networks.

  • Exceptional writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts and translate into effective presentations to external regulators and Senior Executives

  • Working knowledge in a broad range of risk management disciplines operational risk, market risk, credit risk and compliance

  • Strong attention to detail, willingness to "roll up sleeves"; ability to work under pressure and tireless work ethic.

  • Autonomous and highly motivated with the ability to multi-task productively and to work independently as well as collaboratively.

  • Experienced in project management with excellent organizational, follow-up and time management skills.

  • Experience in regulatory and internal audit interaction, exam management/ coordination, and issue management/ resolution

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Hours & Schedule:

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • Hours per Week: 40

Location: NYC preferred location. Open to Boston, MA or Johnston, RI.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $123,000-$185,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
