Innovation Associates, Inc. Industrial Test Engineer in Johnson City, New York
The Role:
As an Industrial Test Engineer, you will assist heavily in New Product Development (NPD) cycles and in the Continuous Improvement (CI) of existing products. You will also work with product engineers and data analysts to develop and track performance metrics across various customers and use said metrics to fuel CI initiatives and increase product quality.
What you’ll do:
Design, conduct and document experiments such as Accelerated Life Tests (ALT), Verification and Validation (V&V) testing and interpreting results using statistical methods
Work closely with various cross-functional teams to define New Product Development (NPD) testing strategy, review test cases, raise QA risks and concerns, and improve product quality and efficiency
Assists New Product Development (NPD) teams by leading and conducting Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives in a cross-functional environment; Create Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Cause-Effect Diagrams
Work with Internal Product and Engineering teams to recreate dispensing system issues and other system errors reported by customers; Document findings for future NPD initiatives
Selects, evaluates and approves components and peripherals for engineering changes and new applications. Work closely with vendors to resolve product issues and obtain product data
Monitor customer performance metrics and identify patterns using statistical methods. Liaise with Field Service Engineers (FSE) to obtain detailed performance information
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering
Ability to obtain ASQ Six-Sigma Green Belt certification within six-months of hire
Knowledge of SQL Server
Knowledge about Design of Experiments (DOE) and Reliability concepts
Demonstrated experience performing tasks independently without supervision
Must be able to analyze and solve problems
Effective communicate, both orally and in writing
Experience creating, composing, and editing written materials
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
Ability to travel up to 8 weeks per year
Even better if you have:
ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt
A minimum of 1 year experience in a verification and validation role
Practical experience with Six Sigma tools and techniques
Experience conducting accelerated life tests
Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Dassault Systèmes, or Solidworks
Compensation:
The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $69,357.60 to $95,366.70, though a candidate's base annual salary shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
