Faculty Family Medicine Physician / Overview
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Family Medicine Faculty Position
- Clinical- Must be board certified or eligible and completion of an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.
(a) Evaluate assess, plan, and evaluate patients’ medical care;
(b) Take call assignments, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts;
(c) Arrange for another physician to care for Physician’s patients when Physician is absent;
(d) Upon request, assist colleague-physicians with medical care issues;
(e) Appropriately refer patients to primary or specialty care as necessary;
(f) Direct and supervise nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other staff, if applicable, demonstrating by example the importance of delivering coordinated patient care as part of a healthcare provider team.
- Performance Improvement
(a) Continuously improve Physician’s performance and work with others to ensure quality patient outcomes and ongoing compliance;
(b) Cooperate with Employer to enhance a meaningful multidisciplinary program of continuous quality improvement addressing the various facets of Employer’s clinical activities;
(c) Assist with organizing educational programs for health professionals;
(d) Participate in medical group and hospital committees, as applicable;
(e) Assist with supervising and evaluating non-professional staff;
(f) Maintain effective communication and working relationships with providers and with facilities providing services to patients in settings other than those of Employer’s.
- Records Completion
(a) Capture patient encounters by complying with billing procedures and work cooperatively with the Employer to assure proper billing of and collection for medical services that Physician provides;
(b) Promptly and timely complete and submit all records and reports, including medical group and hospital medical records, pursuant to applicable laws and to all policies.
- Patient Satisfaction
(a) Assist to develop care-management that emphasizes patient ease of access and continuity of care regardless where such care is delivered and to establish a working environment consistent with organizational goals and regulatory requirements;
(b) Use best efforts to improve Physician’s patient satisfaction scores and Physician’s patient relationship skills.
- Medical Education(c) Physician is encouraged to foster and participate in the education of students, residents and fellows.
Salary Range: $259,200 - $323,900 annually
