JPMorgan Chase Compliance - Technology Operational Risk Management Lead - Vice President in Jersey City, New Jersey

As a Data Management Lead within the Compliance, Conduct, and Operational Risk (CCOR) organization, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of the CCOR data strategy, infusing a data-centric approach into the daily operations of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk Management (CCOR) program. Collaborating closely with CCOR Business leaders, CCOR ML, Analytics & Dash-boarding teams, CCOR CDO and CCOR technology partners, you will supervise the delivery of a unified data platform designed to propel the CCOR innovation agenda through the use of AI/ML, advanced analytics, and automation.

Our CCOR organization is at the forefront of managing risk in a complex and changing regulatory environment. Joining our department, you'll help to safeguard the firm's business by developing solutions that balance risk and regulatory requirements with the firm's business needs.

Our Compliance teams work globally, across all lines of business. Compliance is part of the 'second line of defense ' and is a critical part of the firm's control framework. You'll provide input on new business strategies, product lines, policies and education, operational processes, risk mitigation and control.

Risk Management helps the firm understand, manage and anticipate risks in a constantly changing environment. You will be responsible for covering areas such as evaluating country-specific risk understanding regulatory changes and determining credit worthiness. Risk Management provides independent oversight and maintains an effective control environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain data product ownership for one or more CCOR data product lines for implementation of CCOR Data Lake, including functional requirements capture, test planning and oversight, prioritization of work, and working with technology partners throughout development to ensure clear understanding of requirements and quality of delivery.

  • Develop deep subject matter expertise in CCOR functional domains and use that to drive the design of the data models for CCOR data platform, with the goal of achieving increased business efficiency & pro-active risk management.

  • Actively engage with stakeholders and maintain partnerships across CCOR business teams, CCOR Tech & CCOR CDO

  • Drive adherence to Firm-Wide Data Risk Management policy and standards within the CCOR Product framework

  • Consult with business owners and technology on the impact of changes to the data / data platforms & delivery channels and facilitate change management across CCOR Data consumers.

  • Participate in the development of necessary tools and processes for Data Management & Governance for CCOR.

  • Participate in development of comprehensive data quality framework and drive the business requirement for managing the quality of CCOR data.

  • Develop prototypes for data visualization, data analytics & automation in partnership with other CCOR Digital teams & product owners.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in business analysis, process analysis/mapping, data governance or data analysis activities, with large, complex datasets.

  • Proven ability to gain understanding of business needs including how data is used and managed, and develop functional requirements for solutions that support those needs

  • Hands on SQL writing knowledge is required.

  • Understanding of data flows and data management techniques for diverse data types. (e.g. reference data, structured/unstructured data, big data, etc.)

  • Proven ability to coordinate across functional teams, IT professionals, and other key stakeholders

  • Strong relationship-building skills, demonstrated consultative approach and proven skill in influencing others

  • Proven ability to develop strategies and solution roadmaps with an innovative approach to problem solving

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex issues concisely, communicating effectively and comfortably with senior stakeholders

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience working on large scale data lake / data-warehousing projects is a strong plus.

  • knowledge of data and process modeling techniques is a strong plus.

  • Experience with Tableau, Qlikview, SAP Business Intelligence or other reporting and analytics tools required. Experience with AI/ML techniques is a strong plus.

  • Knowledge of Compliance & Operational Risk data and processes preferred.
