Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Lead Estimating Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in an oceanarium construction project. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in estimating complex construction projects and will lead a team of estimators and work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost estimates that align with project objectives and client expectations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the estimation team in developing accurate and detailed cost estimates for all aspects of the oceanarium construction project, including but not limited to structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural components.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to review project plans, specifications, and scope documents to understand project requirements and identify potential cost implications.

• Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to analyze project data, generate quantity takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates in accordance with established methodologies and best practices.

• Conduct thorough research and analysis of market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and industry standards.

• Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and incorporate subcontractor costs into overall project estimates.

• Prepare and present comprehensive cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients, providing detailed breakdowns and explanations of cost assumptions and methodologies.

• Monitor and track project cost estimates throughout the lifecycle of the project, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances to ensure budget adherence and profitability.

• Participate in project meetings, workshops, and presentations as a subject matter expert on cost estimation, providing insights and recommendations to support project decision-making processes.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

• Minimum of 18 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 6 years in a leadership role and a minimum of 5yrs experience projects, preferably in GCC (KSA experience ideally)

• Proven track record of successfully estimating large-scale projects, experience within the aquatic or marine construction sector is an asset.

• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents, plans, and specifications.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credentials are a plus.
