A reputable organization is seeking to hire a skillful and experienced Paralegal for its office based in Jamaica, NY. The opportunity is for a contract-to-hire, full-time position from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a flexible work arrangement consisting of four in-office days and one remote.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Paralegal Studies.

• Five or more years of paralegal experience.

• Minimum of 3-year experience in labor and employment law.

• Capability to draft contracts and legal correspondence.

• Proficiency in conducting legal research using tools like LexisNexis and other databases.

• Ability to interpret case law and contract provisions if needed.

• Familiarity with the functioning of labor unions, and knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

• Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Solid time-management skills, including the flexibility to work outside of business hours on occasion.

  Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Drafting, editing, and proofreading collective bargaining agreements.

• Conducting legal research as requested by In-House Counsel and other members of the organization.

• Keeping abreast of new laws and regulations to ensure the organization's compliance.

• Drafting and/or modifying written correspondence for various entities within the organization.

• Filing arbitrations, charges, and petitions with the appropriate entities accurately and on time.

• Following up and leading case management.

• Participating in other departmental tasks and special projects as assigned.
