The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide case management for participants in the Problem-Solving Courts. This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Problem-Solving Courts.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

The position is responsible for identifying new participants; creating and maintaining records on all participants; preparing pre-court staffing agendas and reports; attending pre-court staff and court proceedings; advocates for participants to the judge in open court; conduct participant visits at home, work or in treatment settings; coordinate with treatment providers for services needed by program participants; perform observed specimen collections following strict collection procedures; updates and maintains statistical data and records for a case management system; monitors and tracks cases for completion by a certain date.

Education and Experience Guidelines

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of professional related experience. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Special comments

The Florida State Courts System is a criminal justice agency. The successful applicant will be fingerprinted to conduct a criminal history record check. Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check.

According to section 110.205(2)(c), Florida Statutes, positions with the Florida State Courts System (judicial branch) are not covered under the Career Service System. All employees of the Florida State Courts System are at-will employees and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and do not attain tenure rights.
