We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor - Cash Accounting in the retail industry. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, this role is integral to our team, focusing on managing bank reconciliations and ensuring cash is posted accurately in adherence to GAAP standards. As a leader, you will support a team of 6 members with cash management, compliance with internal/external reporting requirements, and assist with m/e, q/e, and y/e analysis & close duties.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of accountants, supporting their training and development.

• Provide accounting, processing, and analytical support for cash accounting activities.

• Prepare and maintain reconciliations related to cash transactions from all bank accounts, including the preparation of journal entries.

• Establish and maintain banking rules for transaction matching to facilitate bank statement reconciliation.

• Develop in-depth knowledge of systems, data, and reporting tools, understanding the business processes related to assigned general ledger accounts.

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly schedules used in the preparation and completion of the month-end closing process.

• Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by direct reports.

• Recommend updates to accounting policies related to improving processes and procedures.

• Perform duties in compliance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, and internal controls.

• Assist accounting management on any and all accounting-related issues.

• Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses, and special projects requested by management

Requirements • Possess at least 3 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of accounting, ideally within the retail industry.

• Demonstrated proficiency in handling cash activities such as cash applications, cash balance, cash clearing, and cash deposits.

• Proven experience with Oracle and US GAAP.

• Proficiency in various financial reconciliation processes, including bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and cash reconciliations.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to examine and analyze financial data.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
