Mississippi Department of Transportation MDOT Accountant II in Jackson, Mississippi
This employer will be hosting a Job Fair on June 25, 2024 from 8:00am - 2:00 pm at MDOT 7759 US Highway 80 West Newton, MS 39345.
Second-level Accounting professional responsible for examining, accounting for, reconciling, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data and records. At this level, employees apply professional and technical accounting knowledge to undertake analysis and interpretations of financial information and data in accordance with general and government accounting practices and principles. Accountable for working under the guidance or within the framework of established processes, systems, practices, and regulations and applying those to perform work, research information, and make evaluations and recommendations.
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of experience and/or appropriate certification. Agency preferred qualifications: A bachelor's degree with 24 credit hours in Accounting OR an Accounting degree and 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
