LOCATION
This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI, Lansing Service Center located in Lansing, MI or Traverse City Service Center located in Traverse City, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Graphic Designer supports the Consumers Energy organization by using relevant, best practice tools, skills and philosophies to develop, analyze and improve illustrative and graphical content to enhance the adoption and usability of standard work. The incumber coordinates and facilitates teams to develop, document and improve complex illustrations which can be 2 or 3 dimensional and may be interactive.
This role supports our Clean Energy Plan goals through dynamic promotion of our customer products and services. Your ability to tell a visually compelling story and inspire action through multi-channel campaigns will help us eliminate coal generation by 2030 and make a smooth transition to more renewable energy solutions – without compromising cost, comfort or reliability. Products supported by the role include energy efficiency solutions, renewable energy, electric vehicles, demand response and new product pilots for both residential and business customer segments. This role also supports development of higher-level brand marketing content, including but not limited to social media and other digital channels. The position sits with the Creative Services team that provides writing, design and video services for the company. It is part of the larger Brand team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with our brand and marketing teams to develop and design communications materials
Bring the company’s brand into our marketing outreach to create a consistent and connected customer journey
Provide suggestions to enhance creative materials using performance results, research and brand standards
Simultaneously manage workload capacity, workflow and deadlines for multiple campaigns
Scope, set and manage clear expectations for and from internal clients
Manage assigned requests from initiation to close to meet commitments with internal customers/business partners and leadership
Plan and facilitate the development and improvement of graphical and illustrative content for standard work documentation with business subject matter experts using relevant tools, skills, and philosophy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Skilled in photography, editing, content management, video animation, HTML5
Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and facilitating consensus across organizations
Knowledge of MS Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Adobe Illustrator, InfoPath, InDesign, and Acrobat. Interactive graphic technology experience desired
Ability to use established standards to perform work and assist business clients to do the same
Effective verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, business, or related field
