Tompkins Community Bank Appraisal Management Coordinator in Ithaca, New York
Overview
Oversee and coordinate the ordering, completion, review and distribution of all residential mortgage appraisals. This position will work directly with approved appraisal vendors and Bank staff to ensure the efficient and compliant implementation of the residential appraisal process. Strictly adhere to all compliance regulations, including the Appraiser Independence Requirements.
Responsibilities
Order appraisals in a timely fashion using Appraisal Management System (AMS)
Monitor and track appraisal orders to ensure timely completion
Review appraisals for quality, accuracy and grammatical errors
Request appraisal report revisions when needed
Maintain direct lines of communication with our approved appraisal panel
Track appraisal report turn time to ensure appraisers are meeting pre-determined expectations
Prepare and discuss reports on appraisal performance to Management
Work with appraisers to resolve concerns or issues with appraisal reports
Directly address appraiser performance, report quality and turn time issues
Manage and administer the Appraisal Management System (AMS)
Complete applicable reconciliations between the AMS and our internal accounting systems
Assess performance management of the appraisers within our approved panel, recommending changes, when needed
Review and evaluate appraisals as a pre-underwriting function
Draft and maintain procedures and policies in collaboration with Mortgage Compliance and Systems Manager
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a residential appraisal position or four (4) years’ experience in a residential lending position.
Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
Knowledge of mortgage loan products, applications, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Proficient analytical, organizational, and problem resolution skills.
Experience with FHLMC, FHA / VA, SONYMA and USDA strongly preferred.
Knowledge of mortgage software and work flow requirements.
Ability to manage and independently perform multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
