Job Overview

In this impactful role, you will be managing an RF design team developing front end module products for the highly competitive cellular handset market. These modules will include power amplifiers, RF switches, SAW/BAW duplexers, and analog bias controllers. Candidates will provide technical leadership in all phases of product development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design, MCM design, layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support. #LI-SG1

Job Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership of module design for our largest customers. You will need to serve as the customer interface as well ensure that program development is on track and performance is leading

  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management on progress toward meeting our goals

  • Possess a clear understanding of customer design specifications and be able to translate full module requirements to subsystem design targets.

  • Detailed architecture, floor planning, cost estimation, schedule estimation, specification negotiation and risk assessment for identified new product development program

  • Apply Microwave Engineering and RFIC design fundamentals to steer PA, LNA, filter, and laminate design tapeouts.

  • Develop high-accuracy simulation benches using ADS, HFSS, or Cadence programs.

  • Adapt the best MCM design and full module Co-simulation practices.

  • Drive lab tuning, data review and analysis.

  • Work with Product Engineering team to review automated testing result reports and limits.

  • Participating in and conducting design review meetings

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership in RF product execution and design innovation.

  • Strong experience in PA, RF switches design, multi-chip module (MCM) and RF front end design and product developments.

  • Strong RF fundamentals such as impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability.

  • Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum or HFSS.

  • Experience on RF switch and/or RFIC/analog circuit design highly desirable.

  • Strong problem solving and lab debugging skills. Hands on experience in RF tuning and using RF instruments.

  • Deep understanding of cellular RF systems.

  • Demonstrated project management and talent management skills.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate engineering talent, define and set deliverables, plan resources, manage schedule, drive design methodology improvement, and achieve desired results.

  • Significant customer interaction planning new products and communicating product development status.

  • Occasional international travel as needed to meet with customers and vendors

    Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of related experience, MS Degree with 12+ years of experience, of PhD with 8+ years of experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite

  • Project Management Tool (e.g. MS, MSPS, Excel,…)

  • Project Management Knowledge

    The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $136,800 - $271,500 per year . Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
