The Role
As the Senior Director of Product Development, you will spearhead the successful growth and operation of Providence’s direct-to-employer (DTE) strategy, including leveraging the Providence St. Joseph Health Network (PSJHN). In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for driving growth and revenue goals for DTE product opportunities, cultivating and managing external employer relationships, and delivering tailored client solutions. Your leadership will be essential in aggregating and maintaining a comprehensive network of high-quality providers across the West Coast, inclusive of both Providence and non-Providence partners, ensuring compliance with access requirements, and the successful execution of a robust network quality program.
What You Will Do
Strategic Growth Driver: Propel the structure, partnerships, and employer engagements to achieve and exceed growth objectives for the Providence DTE product across the West Coast.
Pioneer of High-Performance ACO: Develop and bring to market a high-performing Accountable Care Organization (ACO) throughout the West Coast.
Relationship Builder: Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with national brokers and consultants.
Leader of Employer Engagement: Establish and lead a West Coast Employer Engagement Council, uniting executives from major employers to foster collaborative relationships.
Employer Advocate: Oversee employer wellness initiatives, screenings, outreach programs, and open enrollment activities and events.
Single Point of Contact: Act as the primary contact for employer clients, addressing issues related to access, network, claims administration, and performance.
CRM Custodian: Maintain an employer-based customer relationship management (CRM) solution.
Marketing Collaborator: Provide strategic leadership and direction for marketing efforts in collaboration with Providence and Payers.
Operational Partner: In collaboration with the COO, support the daily operations of PSJHN and its provider network, focusing on direct-to-employer business opportunities.
Network Steward: Build and maintain a comprehensive network of providers that meet the requirements of self-funded employers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with geo-access requirements.
Innovator: Develop and implement innovative methods to enhance and automate existing processes.
Analytical Strategist: Conduct complex analyses to support strategy and business development initiatives across the West Coast.
Project Manager: Develop, manage, and execute project plans to ensure the successful delivery of commitments and optimal resource utilization.
Team Leader: Provide day-to-day oversight of the Client Engagement Team.
Mission Integrator: Ensure that the Providence St. Joseph Health mission is seamlessly integrated into all programs and services.
What You'll Bring
Strategic Vision: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Clinical Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Proven Leadership: 10+ years of experience in a healthcare, health insurance, or consulting firm at a leadership level. At least 5 years of leadership experience.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in utilizing Excel, Access, SQL, or other databases is preferred.
Integrated System Experience: Experience in an integrated health system similar to Providence St. Joseph Health is preferred.
Entrepreneurial Spirit: Experience in entrepreneurial or start-up environments.
Operational Excellence: Demonstrated success in healthcare operations and the implementation of initiatives yielding remarkable results.
Business Acumen: In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, health insurance markets, population health management, and accountable care organizations.
Market Insight: Profound understanding of the self-insured employer market, including ERISA, ASO arrangements, TPA, Stop Loss/Reinsurance, and PBM.
Analytical Expertise: Exceptional ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
Communication Mastery: Strong communication skills to effectively engage with hospital and medical group executives.
Organizational Skills: Well-organized with a keen attention to detail.
Change Management: Adept at managing change and fostering positive interpersonal relations.
Problem-Solving Prowess: Efficiently solves complex problems and drives multiple projects to successful completion.
Initiative and Adaptability: Demonstrates initiative, prioritizes work, and responds effectively to dynamic environments.
