RGP Manager, Accounting - Mexico in Irvine, California

The Manager, Accounting - Mexico, will prepare complex, standard, and specialized financial reports (e. . , balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to U. . Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will manage 1 person in the Mexico market. They will be directly responsible for accounting, reporting, and managing a team related to the business subsidiaries in Mexico. They will work collaboratively with all levels of the business including senior management, accounts payable, sales, as well as external auditors and bank partners. A pivotal characteristic of the role is to ensure strict adherence to not only US GAAP, but also local GAAP requirements. Under the supervision of Vice President, Accounting, the position of Manager, International Accounting requires full participation in department initiatives such as ensuring accurate accounting, managing a timely close process, performing key accounting analytics, and providing support to other team members when needed.

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries and document business transactions

  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the Mexico control environment and corresponding testing requirements

  • Analyze and review budgets and expenditures

  • Manage and develop internal team

  • Empower, monitor, and coach internal team members

  • Manage monthly close process in accordance with required deadlines

  • Ensure accounting is in accordance with both US and Mexico GAAP

  • Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Assist with analyzing financial statements on a quarterly basis and perform variance analysis

  • Assist with internal and external financial audit and statutory tax audit

  • Assist with preparing property tax returns and corporate reporting requirements

  • Review expenses and invoices to ensure they are recorded appropriately in accordance with US and local regulations

  • Prepare and submit monthly electronic accounting filings to Mexico tax agency

  • Identify areas for process improvement and manage implementation of new processes

  • Other projects, as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master’s considered a plus

  • 8+ years accounting/finance experience: CPA a plus

  • Foreign exchange accounting experience; Mexican Peso

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong understanding of U. . GAAP and recent pronouncements

  • Strong technical skills including power user in MS Excel

  • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors, including geographic location, market, and operational factors.

  • Base Pay Range: $109,000 - $137,000

  • Other Compensation: Incentive Compensation
