Job Description
The Associate Scientific Director, GI Care IBS/CIC develops and executes the medical affairs strategy for IBS/CIC, including representing function within cross-functional teams and governance .
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and execution of medical affairs strategy in the Gastro-Intestinal Care Therapeutic Area specifically IBS and CIC.
Responsible for development and execution of medical education strategies at HQ and in connection with field execution and leadership
Responsible for external engagements, serves as medical interface with external experts, professional societies, advocacy organizations and stays abreast of professional information and technology through literature, conference attendance and other sources as appropriate
Represent Medical Affairs at different cross functional meetings as assigned (integrated evidence, medical affairs team, other teams supporting GIC brands) and works with other functions (commercial, HEOR, Value and Access, Clinical Development, etc) to ensure fully aligned cross functional strategy
Partner cross functionally to ensure value continues to be demonstrated in a rapidly evolving environment.
Responsible for assigned evidence generation in alignment with business strategy
This is a hybrid position based in Lake County, IL, Irvine, CA or Florham Park, NJ. There is a possibility of remote work status
Qualifications
PharmD, PhD, or MD with 3-4 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry or Bachelors/Master's degree with 4-6 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry
Experience in Gastrointestinal therapeutic area is preferred but not required.
Experience and proved track-record to lead and provide input and direction to medical strategy including medical education, external engagements, conference planning, Advisory Boards, Symposia
Knowledge and experience in specific medical education strategies utilizing omni-channel and multichannel approaches and measuring impact tools
Demonstrated ability to understand and manage with appropriate support resources, external vendors, budget on assigned projects
Ability to lead without authority, bring out the best in others in cross functional teams and drive towards solutions that meet business objectives
Ability to interact externally and internally to support medical and business strategy
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements of medical review governing HCP and consumer materials
Must possess excellent oral and written English communication skills

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
