Robert Half Office Manager in Iowa City, Iowa

Description

The Office Manager will be responsible for maintaining daily administrative operations, providing leadership to our office staff, and ensuring that our patients receive exceptional service.

In this role, you will oversee front office staff, schedulers, and receptionists, manage charting and billing assistants, and administer training and training software. You will also be responsible for approving employee time and creating work schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the front office, including patient scheduling, billing and charting associates, data entry, reporting and all other administrative tasks.

  • Lead, supervise and mentor front office staff, ensuring high performance and excellent service delivery.

  • Handle patient inquiries, complaints, and billing disputes in a professional and considerate manner.

  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations, compliance with the healthcare regulations and highest standards of patient care.

  • Collaborate with other departments and participate in regular staff meetings.

  • Handle hiring, training, performance evaluations, promotions and terminations as necessary.

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members.

  • Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA regulations.

    Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare office management.

  • Strong knowledge of medical office procedures, patient scheduling systems and medical billing software helpful.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing a team and ability to work in a smaller office setting.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

  • Medical billing and coding understanding.

  • Flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment.
