In HDIP, you will help transforming our current application infrastructure, modalities, and user experiences to help healthcare providers and patients handle the ever-increasing complexity of data and clinical scenarios. Your work will directly impact current and future care scenarios for global populations of patients through extending and modernizing our programmable platform.

As the Director of engineering, you own the software systems for Population space end-to-end. The scope ranges from frontend, backend, infra and all AI integration points. You support a dedicated group of engineers and engineering leaders across software and QA. You are responsible for the vision, execution, and deployment of all software. HDIPs goal has always been to support providers, patients, governments of all sizes and give them an edge in an increasingly driven industry while creating a seamless experience for patients. With HDIP, we bring together near real time gaps in healthcare via mining of petabytes of data, scaling to millions of request with 99.99% availability.To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience running software engineering teams, be technically deep, solve problems resourcefully and creatively, and adapt your process and styles to the changing needs of our evolution from small to enterprise-grade.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • The software development director position will lead engineering teams responsible for building and modernizing population health applications and solutions for health care organizations.

  • You will manage teams and organizations that design, implement, and operate complex clinical systems.

  • Assist in the development of short-, medium- and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Lead an “always on” culture on the team. Your products and services will operate systems on a global scale with high resiliency and operational metrics.

  • Responsible for leading design and implementation details around next generation forward chaining rules-based system to drive non-ML expert systems and rules building user experiences.

  • Work closely with product managers, architects, and developers to build application engineering infrastructure enabling wide scale clinical application development on the OHDAP platform.

  • Drive wide-scale engineering technical programs that cross platforms, customers, and technologies.

  • Drive development processes, automated testing strategies, development tools and continued developer efficiency processes.

Qualifications

  • You have prior experience working on distributed systems at a cloud service provider.

  • You are proficient in one or more of Java, C#, C/C++ and/or Ruby and Python.

  • You are experienced at building highly available services, APIs, and applications, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.

  • Demonstrate leadership and people management skills, strong social skills, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of product development techniques.

  • Production experience with Cloud and ML technologies.

  • You have experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code in production and solve issues when they arise.

  • Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other stakeholders.

  • You feel at home communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations).

  • Data science and machine learning knowledge would be advantageous, but not required.

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to software engineering.

US: Hiring Range: from $120,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
