Atlas Senior Metallurgical Engineer (CMT Materials Engineer) in Indianapolis, Indiana

We are seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer (CMT Materials Engineer) to join our team! Ideal candidate would have expert witness experience, be a professional engineer and have familiarity with construction industry materials and failures. Having a CWI would be a plus. The successful candidate has the ability to work out of one of the following Atlas lab locations: Denver, CO; Boise, ID, Cincinnati, OH; Indianapolis, IN. Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Forensic work related to construction industry is desired

  • Good project management and report writing skills necessary

  • Time management and good customer service skills

Minimum requirements:

  • Metallurgical Engineering Degree, BS minimum with a Masters degree preferred

  • 5 years minimum of professional experience

  • Materials Science or Engineering Degree with metallurgical experience would be considered

  • Experience with failure investigations and expert witness testimony

Technical requirements:

  • Professional Engineer, CWI

  • Good report writing skills.

  • Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft, ERP and LIMS software systems

  • Knowledge of building codes, welding codes is useful, but experience as forensic expert is critical.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Ability to travel, if project demands.

  • Ability to operated SEM and other digital microscopes (Keyance)

Compensation:

$170,560 - $176,800 annual salary

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
