Taft is currently seeking an eDiscovery Analyst II to join our team in our Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Detroit (Southfield), Indianapolis or Minneapolis office.

We are seeking an eDiscovery Analyst II with 5+ years experience to support our Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Detroit, Indianapolis or Minneapolis office. Under limited supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the eDiscovery Analyst II provides firm-wide support on litigation case databases, as well as litigation software and systems utilized by the firm. This position works in a fast-paced team environment, to accomplish tasks in the most accurate and efficient manner. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds, maintains, and supports electronic case databases using RelativityOne.
  • Examines electronic data sets for content, organization and volume, and assists with the proper handling and storage of client data.
  • Performs intake, processes, and loads data using prescribed applications and procedures in accordance with case specific instructions communicated by members of the firm-wide Taft Discovery Group and others in the firm.
  • Produces data in accordance with established workflows and best practices, following case specific instructions as communicated, and assists with the sharing of data with related and opposing parties as needed.
  • Performs necessary and appropriate quality control and verification of all assigned tasks for accuracy and consistency.
  • Independently uses RelativityOne analytics, advanced functionality, artificial intelligence, and scripting to complete assigned tasks.
  • Provides guidance to members of the firm on the most appropriate analytics tool when necessary, based on case needs.
  • Maintains a record of actions, utilizing the Analyst tracking application, and all project management related forms and applications deployed by the Taft Discovery Group, allowing for the identification and tracking of data during all phases of the data lifecycle, from receipt to archival, as applicable.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, data media duplication and auditing, imaging, spreadsheet manipulation, image and native file printing.
  • Assists members of the firm with basic and advanced end-user functionality during all phases of the eDiscovery process.
  • Collaborates with project managers and eDiscovery attorneys to complete assignments.
  • Ensures security of all data by tracking the custody and control of data and storing data in accordance with firm department policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in the use of RelativityOne.
  • Proficient in the use of RelativityOne analytics and advanced functionality.

Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and maintain an irregular work schedule is often required. - Personal effectiveness and credibility, collaboration, and teamwork is required. - Thoroughness and attention to detail while working efficiently and effectively. - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs is required. - Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and others on the telephone, in person, and in writing.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five to eight years of experience working in a litigation support role using Relativity along with advanced analytics technologies, in a law firm or e-discovery service provider environment.
