Dr. Tavel Optical Group Assistant Office Manager - Chapel Hill in Indianapolis, Indiana

Pay:

  • Pay starts at $20.50 per hour base pay.

  • Eligible for monthly bonus immediately.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Office Manage in all operations of a Dr. Tavel office including hiring, employee scheduling, training and development, performance reviews, meetings, inventory assessment, and other duties as assigned or needed within the office. Serving as the backup manager when Office Manager is out of the office.

  • Setup your store for success each day by ensuring all operational, service, and staff procedures are executed to Dr. Tavel standards

  • Drive store vision and sales by providing exceptional service and resolving customer and operational inquiries timely

  • Deliver excellent patient care and product offerings to customers

  • Assisting with general front office operations: answering the phone, check-in, check-out, and pretesting patients

  • All things insurance: verifying eligibility, answers questions, and authorizing benefits

  • Foster and support a productive, positive culture in your office

Requirements

  • Previous management experience is required (retail management is a plus) with ability to motivate, develop, and hold staff accountable

  • Management experience leading a team of at least 4-6 employees is a plus

  • Previous optical experience with working knowledge of troubleshooting glasses a plus but not required

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to strive for excellence

  • Clear, effective, and professional communicator with ability to break down terms for customers to easily understand

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Available to work one evening per week and Saturdays

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
