Medtronic Sr IT Developer in Hyderabad, India

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our Global IT Connected Care team. We drive software application design, development, deployment, and support for internal stakeholders and external users. As Principal IT Developer on the Connected Care team, you will lead application design and guide and participate in the development and maintenance of applications on multiple platforms. You will follow the Agile methodology to develop great applications, facilitate support, and improve development team processes. You will partner with colleagues and other stakeholders including developers, testers, analysts, users, and management to ensure all aspects of software projects are successful.

Our mobile development services are expanding to include Connected Care activities across the business to improve patient lives and experiences with Medtronic therapies. This role will focus on developing and implementing Connected Care solutions that serve our patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. You will work on a variety of software and hardware platforms including React, Node.JS, Typescript and other emerging web application technologies.

A Day in the Life:

  • Develop web applications using some or all of the following languages, frameworks, or libraries: TypeScript, Node.JS, React, and PostgreSQL.

  • Architect, design, develop and modify production and proof-of-concept web applications and micro-services.

  • Provide advanced knowledge of development tools and execute with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Develop data intensive apps using PostgreSQL technologies.

  • Provide patches, fixes, and upgrades to existing systems.

  • Follow software development lifecycle principles and specific processes used by team.

  • Work independently to explore and master new technologies and development tools.

  • Work closely with QA (Quality Assurance) to ensure that our applications are as bug free as possible.

  • Execute with strong decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Support and plan process improvements for the team.

  • Contribute to the translation of functional business requirements to technical solutions and articulate these solutions to high-level audiences.

  • Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation.

  • Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.

  • Provide support for UI/UX guidelines for web application development.

  • Support the design of Graphical User Interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users.

  • Work closely with functional users to enhance and maintain programs.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required

Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required

  • Experience with networking stack(s)

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and Microservices

  • Experience integrating 3rd-party SDKs

  • Experience connecting to Webservices / data transport (JSON, XML, etc.)

  • Experience working on Enterprise web or cloud applications / solutions

  • Experience developing web services and working with backend database systems

  • Experience with FHIR Standard

  • Experience with Application Security

  • Experience with crash reporting and triaging issues

Nice to have:

  • Self-directed / self-motivated / self-starter; not easily blocked by barriers often presented by large corporations and complex projects

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with proven ability to effectively communicate to all management levels

  • Experience with AWS (Elastic Container Service, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation)
