Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms.

• 3 years of experience in people management.

• Experience deploying and managing cluster environments.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience contributing to open-source communities and managing open-source projects.

• Knowledge of the high-performance compute and Machine Learning landscape, with experience supporting top AI/ML/HPC customers.

• Demonstrated success in recruiting and leading high-performing engineering teams focused on building large-scale systems and tooling.

• Understanding of cloud computing platforms and technologies, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Define and execute the technical strategy for a new, autonomous AI/ML product, catering to the needs of large-scale technical and scientific customers.

• Design and develop scalable tools and services with incremental milestones, enabling rapid iteration to support new AI/ML models entering the market.

• Utilize expertise in deploying and managing cluster environments, offering informed recommendations on orchestrators like SLURM or GKE to optimize performance for top AI/ML/HPC customers

• Partner with teams across CMCS (Core ML, GCE, GKE, NetInfra, etc.) and US counterparts to align technical designs, ensuring long-term feasibility and maintainability of solutions.

• Recruit and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers passionate about building large-scale systems. Actively contribute to the open-source community, manage repositories, and foster a thriving internal and external community around the product.
