The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) is a seasoned engineering role, responsible for providing a service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.

Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role will maintain a high level of service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.

This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices and applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.

The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) focusses across two or more technology domains such as (but not limited to) Cloud, Security, Networking, Applications and / or Collaboration and may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

• Knowledge of Power Shell Scripting in deploying Infrastructure.

• Deploying and Configuring Virtual Networks

• Orchestrating Routing Paths, especially in a Hybrid Cloud.

• Managing Public and Private IP addresses for Windows VMs and selected other Azure resources.

• Use Log Analytics to write a simple query

• Understand the schema of the data in Log Analytics

• Filter, sort, and group results

• Deploying Windows VMs into Virtual Networks.

• Configuring Windows VM for Optimum Cost, Performance, and Security.

• Backing up Windows VMs and potentially providing Fail-over Recovery.

• Working knowledge on Azure Active Directory

• Working knowledge on Blob Storage.

• Experience as Windows administrator for the enterprise naming service, comprised of: (i) Internet Protocol (IP) address management, (ii) Enterprise Domain Name System (DNS), (iii) Enterprise Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and iv) WINS.

• Good hands-on experience in access management and documentation i.e. End User procedures for add, remove and change requests, tracking, audit and compliance procedures

• Experience in administration of network name spaces and address blocks

• Experience in building and managing support for all corporate level DHCP Services, DHCP scopes, WINS and DNS (Domain Name System) Services.

• Experience in server commission/decommission, cleanup, existing WINS service within 6 months of commencement.

• Experience in business continuity planning and executed disaster recovery tests.

• Experience in server upgrades, as well as having experience in installing hotfixes and patches.
