The Team : We are the FinOps and Data Governance team.

Our mission is to enable data-driven decision support through ensuring accurate and actionable data. We collaborate with stakeholders and data stewards across the organization to provide the data necessary to meet strategic objectives.

Our FinOps focus is on managing and optimizing cloud financial operations with a strong emphasis on cloud cost allocation. We monitor and allocate cloud costs. We analyze cloud cost data and publish key performance indicators tracking actionable cost-saving opportunities. We collaborate with cloud providers, finance, divisional stakeholders, and IT. To enable FinOps, the team drives the design, implementation, and support of the FinOps data Lakehouse and reporting.

Our Data Governance focus is on managing key metadata sets. Primary examples include the Application, Service & Product Portfolio, Locations and Cloud Service Accounts. We work closely with data owners, consumers, and stakeholders to define quality and completeness standards and rules. We also collaborate with source system developers to implement self-service data change requests and revalidation mechanisms to keep data current and accurate.

Responsibilities and Impact :

  • Develop reporting and automation solutions for Cloud Cost Allocation, Cloud Governance KPI publication, Data Governance, and Forecasting Support.

  • Assist in performing data governance tasks to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.

  • Utilize Excel and other tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Python, SQL, Cloudability, Dremio) to analyse and interpret complex data sets.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop efficient solutions.

  • Create and maintain documentation for processes and reports.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve data management and reporting processes.

  • Provide operational support of reports and solutions developed by self and others.

  • Assist in the monthly close process.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications :

  • Expertise in Excel.

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Alteryx, SQL, Power BI, Python, Cloudability, Dremio or similar tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in cloud cost allocation and/or forecasting is a plus.

  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Testing or Data governance is a plus.

  • Knowledge of financial concepts such as cost accounting and amortization.
