Google Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Google Cloud in Hyderabad, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience managing client-facing projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and working with engineering/sales teams/customers.

  • Experience maintaining internet facing production-grade applications in virtualized environments.

  • Experience writing software in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with cluster deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Jenkins).

  • Experience with scalable networking technologies (e.g., Load Balancers, Firewalls) and web standards (e.g., REST APIs, web security mechanisms).

  • Experience with VMware infrastructure and Cloud migrations (NSX, HCX, and similar platforms).

  • Experience in system administration tasks in Linux or Unix, and familiarity with standard IT security practices (e.g., encryption, certificates, key management).

  • Knowledge of managing Kubernetes in large production environments.

  • Understanding of open source server software (e.g., NGINX, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.).

You work closely with a cross-functional team of web developers and systems administrators, not to mention a variety of both regional and international customers. Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping Google grow its Cloud business and helping companies around the world innovate.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll guide customers on how to configure and deploy their containers on the cloud, consisting of network architecture, identity and access management, application security, logging, monitoring, billing, and more. In this role, you'll work with strategic cloud customers. Together with the team, you will support customer implementation of Google Cloud products. You'll consult with customers on how to best design their containerized applications for optimal scaling including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), load balancer setup, caching, compute optimizations, continuous integration, and delivery pipeline. Additionally, you will work closely with Product Management, Product Engineering, and the Kubernetes Open Source Community to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features.

  • Work with customer technical leads, client managers, and partners to plan and deliver successful implementations of cloud migration projects becoming a trusted advisor to decision makers throughout the engagement.

  • Work with internal specialists, product and engineering teams to package best practices and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies, and published assets.

  • Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks/issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.

  • Advocate for customers needs to overcome adoption blockers and drive new feature development based on your field experience.

  • Design solution architectures and manage the deployment of cloud based distributed virtualized infrastructure solutions according to complex customer requirements and implementation best practices.
