Position is to join the Deployment Product Team supporting OCONUS Operations for the Network and Field Services Business Area. This dynamic role works directly with the Deployment Product Owners to manage the Surge Team and facilitate overall success. This is a highly visible position that works directly with Deployment Leadership.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of Deployment Surge Team projects and serves as liaison between Deployment Leadership and CONUS based Field Service Engineers (FSEs). Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving.

This position will be location in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage skillset and technical development of FSEs to maintain a high level of standards for FSE proficiency

  • Support the Deployment Product to ensure CONUS based FSEs are engaged and workload balanced

  • Work with Logistics Product Owner to ensure equipment set for deployment is fully mission capable

  • Work with Product Engineers during new product release to oversee testing and validation conducted by FSEs and provide feedback for system enhancement

  • Work with Operations Product Owner to assist in coordination of FSE deployments and assignments, new release of FW/SW, and new equipment installations

  • Manage the second troubleshooting support of all OCONUS based FSEs

  • Facilitate meetings with Government Customer and provide regular feedback to the status of installed systems and SW across all OCONUS locations

  • Perform roles and responsibilities related to Control Account Manager (CAM) and Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • Candidate must be an independent self-starter able to work with multi-disciplined teams to analyze and solve problems and meet customer needs/contractual requirements

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Evaluate and enhance processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education requirements for a Sr. Principal

  • High school diploma and 14 years of experience

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years of experience

  • Master degree and 8 years of experience

  • Doctorate and 5 years

  • Hands on experience in project management and/or control account management

  • Familiarity with risk development and mitigation plans

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with JIRA Board processes and implementation planning

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and product teams

  • Demonstrated leadership success and ability to gain influence with peers and others in a matrixed organization

  • Experience in Microsoft Project (scheduling), EVMS, Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), and Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one

  • Mush have ability to provide tasking to a team of up to 7 CONUS based FSEs while they are between assignments

  • Must have great communication skills as this position is customer facing as well as program facing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Assessing product needs in accordance with customer specifications

  • Conducting technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives

  • Experience performing operator and administrative functions on the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) Command and Control (C2)

  • Experience in networking or basic understanding of the OSI model and network architectures

  • Deployment experience in a field technical support role

Salary Range: $104,900 - $157,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
