Parsons is seeking a talented senior-level Modeling and Simulation RF Engineer to join our diverse team supporting the warfighter and prominent acquisition and intelligence programs. The candidate will support and lead team activities which include analysis of emerging and fielded RF systems particularly Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (SAMs); hardware and software assessments and prototyping of advanced radar platforms, missile seekers, and datalinks; and development of medium and high-fidelity models, simulations, and analysis.

The Parsons team supports a customer providing a critical role in our nation’s defense by assessing, developing, and bringing together intelligence-backed, medium- to high-fidelity threat system models from across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise into an integrated wargame simulation environment. Parsons has supported this customer for 20+ years with an established, growing team and customer relationships.

In this role you will lead and support a team assessing systems and developing software models of threat weapon systems which capture the capabilities and limitations of the emerging or fielded systems. You will work through the entire development process, including requirements definition, design, development, integration, testing, verification, and validation. Our team develops and integrates a variety of weapon system models, including electronic warfare systems, communication systems, radar systems, command and control systems, surface to air missile systems, gun-based defense systems as well as mobile ground and air platforms. In this role you will specifically focus on analyzing and modeling foreign threat RF systems, including radar, passive RF detection, electronic support, electronic attack, seekers, and tactical communications systems.

The ideal candidate would possess experience with RF- and EO/IR-based weapon and sensor systems, C4 systems, cyber warfare, directed energy weapon systems, GPS systems, military network communications, and the signal propagation environments associated with these systems and have prior experience using all-source intelligence characterization in modeling and simulation of threat systems. Experience with C++, Python, or Simulink is required.

What Else You'll Be Doing :

  • Defining requirements and designing solutions for M&S software

  • Participating in technical discussions to assist in near-term and long-term planning

  • Developing software using C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux Platforms

  • Working in an Agile software development team

  • Working within a team and leading/mentoring junior/mid-level software developers

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience, OR Masters Degree with 6+ years of experience, OR Ph.D with 4+ years of experience

  • Strong programming skills (C++, Python, and/or MATLAB/Simulink

  • RF hardware, signal processing, and modeling experience in communications, radar, electronic support, or electronic attack systems

  • Experience developing products with regular release cycles

  • Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team including customers at classified levels

Required Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance required and the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET / SCI Security Clearance

What Desired Skills You'll Bring :

  • Experience with the threat system model modeling in TMAP, ODESSA, ESAMS, AFSIM or ITASE

  • Experience with STIMS 2 (Simulink) and/or STIMS 3 (C++) modeling frameworks

  • Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment

  • Experience working in an AGILE software development team

  • Mentoring experience

  • Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment

  • Experience with working with environmental datasets and RF propagation

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
