Leidos Mid-Level Electrical Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

The Leidos Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a talented Mid-Level Electrical Power System Engineer candidate to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville, AL location. We have offices across the United States that provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields. Primary Responsibilities:

As an essential part of our dynamic team developing advanced electrical system designs. You will analyze, design and integrate solutions that will successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges.

You will primarily be focused on electrical power system design and integration for the Enduring Shield mobile ground based force protection system, but there are also opportunities to participate in design of electrical architectures and integrated systems for other mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardware.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform all aspects ofpower system development from developing/deriving requirements to employing appropriate techniques for design, fabrication, integration, and test

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team engaged in the development of complex power generation, power distribution, and power conversion systems

  • Collaborate with suppliers and sub contractorsin the development of complexpower generation, power distribution, and power conversionsystems

  • Track, and maintain system power requirements and overall system power budget

  • Develop or maintain system interface definitions and resulting documentation (i.e. Interface Control Drawings, etc.)

  • Oversee the specification, design, and manufacture/procurement of interconnect cabling

  • Plan and execute integration and test activities to ensure successful unit, sub-system, and system assembly, integration, and test

  • Provide technicalinput to program leadership during the planning and execution of engineering projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess aBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Candidate must have at least 4 years of engineering work experience or 2+ years with MS degree.

  • Candidate must have a working knowledge of digital/analog/mixed signal electronics, components, and interface/communication standards

  • Candidate must have experience in electronics design and test from architecture through implementation

  • Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment

  • Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TDP knowledge

  • Cable design experience

  • Power system design experience

  • Component derating experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
