Generate and/or coordinate SLS vehicle-level system engineering processes for requirements and related verifications to ensure the necessary and complete integration of the SLS Element hardware, software, commands, and telemetry.

Lead or participate in the Avionics and Software screening panel meetings and provide subject matter expertise as needed to resolve identified issues.

Lead or participate in the resolution of Problem Reports created at the Avionics and Software Control Board (ASCB).

Provide thorough technical assessments of all proposed avionics, and software interface and integration requirements to understand the impacts imposed by modifications.

Identify and communicate risks associated with requirements via the NASA Risk Management System.

Lead or participate in the leadership of the System Integration Lab (SIL) or the Integrated Avionics Test Facility (IATF).

Participate in the Safety and Mission Assurance oversight of the avionics and software activities.

Additional responsibilities may include leading and/or supporting the following systems engineering tasks:

Development of key system engineering products for program/project milestones.

Integration of the AandS interface technical decisions and concerns with SLS, EGS, and Orion program/project stakeholders and with a variety of engineering disciplines across multiple NASA Centers.

Performance of critical mission event and process improvement studies including affordability improvement activities focused on improving overall element design, systems integration, operational efforts, or life cycle costs.

Document and control of the AandS systems through controlling documents and deliverables which may include interface requirements and control documents, functional schematics, trade study reports, and other technical briefing and/or decision packages.
