System One Laboratory Technician in Hunt Valley, Maryland

Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Hunt Valley, MD

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm

Type: 6-month contract to hire based on performance

Start date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize all senses for the evaluation of food and beverage products, including aroma, flavor, and color perception

  • Prepare and conduct product quality sensory evaluations on sensory samples, including product preparation, sensory panels, data collection, and reporting.

  • Execute sensory shelf life studies of finished seasonings.

  • Receive shipment samples from internal stakeholders.

  • Ship samples to plants.

  • Maintain and manage controls/references for sensory evaluations.

  • Keep lab stock and supplies organized and assist in upholding company standards.

  • Manage the seasoning database, including data entry and overall data management.

  • Document and file sensory data accurately.

  • Handle the disposal and storage of seasoning production samples.

  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of sensory samples.

  • Train sensory panelists.

  • Support customer complaint resolution and corrective actions.

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field preferred, or an Associate degree.

  • 2 years of lab experience strongly preferred, or a highly motivated recent graduate.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with basic sensory lab equipment such as scales, thermometers, and hotplates.
