Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Houston, Texas, 77043-2421, United States location. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity in the software industry that involves the use of Epicor software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring that all transactions are accounted for accurately.

• Handling full cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) and performing detailed analysis to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.

• Performing Work in Progress (WIP) reconciliations to track the status of ongoing projects and their associated costs.

• Executing cost analysis to determine the profitability of different business activities and providing recommendations for cost efficiency.

• Carrying out regular bank reconciliations to confirm the company's records are in line with the bank statements.

• Preparing and posting journal entries to the General Ledger as part of the month-end close process.

• Utilizing Epicor software for various accounting tasks and ensuring all data is updated accurately.

• Maintaining accurate records and processing customer credit applications efficiently.

• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions based on account status.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, with a minimum of 2 years in the field.

• Exposure to account reconciliation.

• Experience with balance sheet reconciliation.

• Understanding of Bank reconciliations.

• Solid understanding and experience with general ledger operations.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and record journal entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Exposure to month-end close procedures.

• Experience with WIP - Work In Progress accounting is a plus

• Familiarity with Epicor accounting software is preferred but not required
