Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Tax Analyst in Houston, Texas. As a Payroll Tax Analyst, you will be tasked with ensuring the accuracy of payroll related accounts, preparing and filing payroll taxes, and dealing with garnishment payments. Your role will also involve collaborating with third party vendors and handling inquiries from various entities.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and file all payroll taxes in a multi-company, multi-state, and local environment.

• Collaborate with third party vendors on tax reviews and prepare new tax registrations.

• Ensure the reconciliation and accuracy of all payroll related General Ledger accounts.

• Effectively handle all garnishment payments and ensure they are in compliance with withholding orders and laws.

• Respond to inquiries from employees, courts, state and federal agencies regarding garnishment orders.

• Conduct research on state and local specific tax requirements.

• Handle complex payroll tax transactions and account variances.

• Ensure timely applications to all relevant taxing agencies.

• Perform internal audits of payroll tax areas periodically and prepare materials for internal or external auditors. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now

• Ability to handle various Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting

• Experience in Auditing

• Understanding of Local Payroll Tax laws and regulations

• Experience with Payroll Tax Deposits

• Proficiency in Payroll Tax Reporting

• Experience in preparing and submitting Payroll Tax Returns
