Aerotek Mechanical Assembler in Houston, Texas

Job Title: Mechanical Assembler (Night Shift)

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to perform mechanical assembly on components such as valves, coils, and other large mechanical structural parts. You will work in a team to install components like bus ducts, air handlers, cable trays, pipes, and sheet metal into oversized modules built out of structural tubes. This role involves both mechanical and basic electrical assembly tasks, with a focus on fast-paced, repetitive work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly on valves, coils, and large mechanical structural parts.

  • Work as part of a team to install bus ducts, air handlers, cable trays, pipes, and sheet metal.

  • Conduct basic electrical assembly tasks, including pulling wire, installing bus bars, bus ducting, and cable trays.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, BOM, P&IDs, and work orders or instructions, and relay this information to the team.

  • Work at an assembly station, not on a conveyor belt.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical assembly experience, specifically with valves, coils, and large structural mechanical parts.

  • Experience using hand tools such as drills, caulking guns, grinders, torque wrenches, levels, and measuring tapes.

  • Familiarity with machines like large band saws, pipe bevellers, and magnetic drills.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, BOM, P&IDs, and work instructions.

  • Experience in a mass production or high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Basic electrical experience, including pulling wire and assisting with conduit installation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with similar companies is preferred.

Why Work Here?

Join our team and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We value teamwork, precision, and a strong work ethic. Enjoy the opportunity to work on large-scale projects and enhance your skills in both mechanical and electrical assembly.
