Loads and Dynamics AnalystJob Description

As a Loads and Dynamics Analyst, you will be instrumental in the development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests of Finite Element Models. Your role will involve engaging in rigid and flexible body dynamics, modeling, simulating, and verifying spacecraft launch and landing scenarios, and interpreting acceleration, shock, and vibration data from ground and flight tests. You will also contribute to general loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems, and support configuration development and trade studies.

Description:

  • Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests.

  • Rigid and flexible body dynamics.

  • Modeling, simulation, and verification of spacecraft launch and landing scenarios.

  • Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation of ground and flight tests.

  • General loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems.

  • Support configuration development and trade studies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Mechanical, or Aerospace.

  • 6+ years structural dynamics and loads analysis.

  • 5+ years in finite element modeling.

  • Analysis software experience (preferred Nastran, Simcenter 3D, MATLAB, Python).

  • Space vehicle coupled loads analysis.

  • Prediction/validation of low and/or high frequency structural dynamics and loads, in addition to finite element modeling.

  • Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals.

  • Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools).

  • Strong knowledge of loads and environment analysis.

PREFERRED:

  • Spacecraft and launch vehicle loads development/validation experience.

  • NASTRAN proficiency.

  • High frequency environment prediction skills related to spacecraft and launch vehicles.

Work Environment

The position is onsite, working closely with the structural analysis team and under the supervision of the Engineering Manager. The role primarily involves desk-based modeling and analysis tasks.
