Job Description

We are seeking a skilled grit blaster to remove old coatings from gas turbine parts in a repair facility. The role involves precision blasting of thin gauged stainless and alloy materials, including nuts, bolts, and turbine components. The work will be conducted in a blasting booth, focusing on removing ceramic thermal bearing mat coatings.

Responsibilities

  • Blast away old coatings from gas turbine parts.

  • Work with thin gauged stainless and alloy materials.

  • Perform grit blasting in a blasting booth.

  • Handle turbine components, nuts, and bolts with precision.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in sandblasting and grit blasting.

  • 2+ years of experience in grit blasting.

  • Experience with blasting thin gauged materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and precision in blasting operations.

Work Environment

The work environment is an open-aired, clean shop. The role involves working in a blast booth with a protective suit. The facility may relocate within North Houston in the next 5-6 months, but the move will be nearby. Work hours are 5:00 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday to Friday, with frequent Saturdays and some Sundays, offering plenty of working hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
