DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The engagement and communications manager will implement and manage a communication and outreach strategy aimed at engaging, educating, and empowering the community. This individual will represent the office in external meetings and functions, including board and community meetings. This position will work closely with the chief of staff on meeting and appearance requests. This position will also lead communications efforts (traditional and social media) and serve as PIO. The ideal candidate will have experience in community outreach, public relations, or communications and be fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Political Science or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of administrative, research or closely related experience are required.

PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
Five years of experience related to the position.
Prior experience and degree in communications.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
